Application Process
Deadline for your nomination:
Your university must nominate you for your semester abroad.
The nomination deadlines are:
For the winter semester: 15th May
For the summer semester: 15th November
First, your Erasmus+ Coordinator must send a Nomination Letter to the Incoming Student coordinator, Prof. Daniel Kaspurz, BSc., MSc.: daniel.kaspurz@ph-kaernten.ac.at
The first email to you will be sent after we have received the nomination, with a request to wait for the final decision due to the limited places and the large number of students who are willing to study at PHK.
After receiving admission to study at PHK, you will be provided with further details concerning the required documents (e.g. Online Application Form, Learning Agreement, Certificate of Language skills).
The Acceptance Letter will be issued along with further information about accommodation, arrival and departure dates, and the Welcome Week.
Visa Requirements and Insurance
They must apply for a visa through the Austrian diplomatic or consular representation in their country of residence, as visas are not issued at the border.
Please note that incoming students are responsible for applying for their own visas. The International Office does not participate in the visa application process. As visa processing can take several weeks or even months, it is strongly recommended that you begin your application as early as possible.
EU Nationals, and Citizens of Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, and Switzerland
Students from the countries listed above are entitled to the same public healthcare services as residents of Austria. To access these services, they should obtain a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) from their local social security or health insurance office in their home country before departure.
Third-Country Nationals (Non-EU Citizens)
Before arriving in Austria, students from non-EU countries must obtain private health insurance that covers medical treatment, hospitalization, and repatriation.
It is the student's responsibility to ensure that their insurance policy provides adequate coverage for the entire duration of their stay in Austria. Students should contact their insurance provider in their home country in advance to confirm the coverage and fully understand the terms and conditions of the policy.
